About the FirmThe OSS Associates, Inc. (OSS) eliminates technology problems for businesses. The firm was founded in 2006. OSS primarily performs design, installation and proactive maintenance of technology infrastructure; this includes network components, notebooks, workstations and servers, network security, wireless networks, wide-area and remote access technologies, electronic mail, electronic storage, archival systems, backup and disaster recovery, databases, web servers and line of business applications. OSS serves clients in a wide range of industries, with concentrations in manufacturing, medical clinics, general and professional services, retail and distribution. OSS serves approximately 75 active clients. Each client employs between 5 and 1,000 employees. Clients tend to be solely located or headquartered near our regional offices in South East Florida, although many throughout the United States and caribbean that OSS supports. Several of our clients operate as subdivisions of their multi-national parent. OSS clients expect rapid response. Clients speak to a principal of the firm as their primary contact. OSS small size and simple structure removes bureaucracy. Since quality of service drives our principals’ compensation, and the principals continually speak directly with our clients, the firm reacts very rapidly to requests or concerns. OSS clients expect to be served by professionals with experience so that problems are resolved rapidly. The average OSS employee has over 4 years of experience managing, deploying and servicing technology. OSS professionals receive continual training in technical and non-technical subjects. Their job includes eliminating technology problems using both technical acumen and effective communication of the underlying problem via analogy. Employees’ receive compensation based upon customer satisfaction and demonstrable technical expertise. OSS clients expect their technology service provider to be knowledgeable about both distinct technologies and trends in the information technology field so that problems are solved rapidly and therefore at the lowest cost. OSS spends on average 4 hours per week studying trade magazines to learn about emerging technologies and best practices for deploying and maintaining current technologies. This is in addition to maintaining and utilizing partnerships with various other firms, most notably Microsoft, who provide us with pre-release software and advanced technical information. OSS clients expect that their technology service provider has hands on experience with the hardware and software that they use. OSS maintains a multi-server, multi-client test network with which to test new technologies, the efficacy or difficulty of upgrades, and the effects of patches new technologies on established systems. Clients benefit from our culture of buying and using technologies in order to truly understand their capability because we know first hand what works, how well it works and its value proposition to a business that would adopt it. OSS clients experience minimal disruptions due to problems with their infrastructures because we balance quality and cost when we design a network or solve an acute technology problem for our clients. We eliminate technology problems, not just technology symptoms. About the Firm’s PrincipalsThe firm’s founder, Aldo Delgado, has nearly 12 years of experience with Information Technology. Delgado’s emphasis is on project management, network design, and technology planning although he still performs network implementations. He owned his first computer at age 10 and created his first commercial program at age 16. His first IT project was the complete installation, implementation and operation of an integrated manufacturing, cost control and financial reporting and analysis package for a specialized manufacturer for his fathers business. Andre Castillo, manager of the Florida office, has nearly 7 years experience in the IT sector. His specialties include networking and infrastructure applications, security applications and infrastructure deployment and project management. He has been serving the IT needs of small business since the age of 18. |
